What you do as a Specialist

As a Specialist you demonstrate your specialized knowledge or skills, observe and consult at your host organization in the USA. You share experience that is rare elsewhere and exchange with experts on site. The range is wide, from business, law and marketing to ski instruction, culinary arts and coaching.

For the Specialist, the focus is not an academic degree but your recognized knowledge and your practice.

  • Your experience can be evidenced, for example through years of practice, references, publications or awards.

Duration and repetition

A stay as a Specialist runs for up to one year. A repetition is possible, but it must show a new and independent plan, not simply an extension of the old one. Unlike Research Scholar and Professor, there is no fixed waiting period of twelve or twenty four months.
